US TRADITIONAL TAEKWONDO FEDERATION
Picture
The purpose of the US Traditional Taekwondo Federation is to preserve authentic Korean Karate as a viable form of martial skills and combative ability. Therefore, the curriculum and training methods of our organization revolve around realistic self defense training. As a traditional system, we teach poomsae/hyung with the intent of extracting its practical value through the process of bunhae and eungyong (analysis and application). Below are the poomsae officially taught in the USTTF for both the Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do certification avenues.

The Taekwondo poomsae listed below were created by the Korea Taekwondo Association, prior to the institution of the Kukkiwon (with the exception of Koryo, which was created to replace Koryo Il Hyung). The Tang Soo Do hyung are carried over from Shotokan and Shito Ryu. Students have the opportunity to be ranked in both Taekwondo and Tang Soo Do through our organization, depending on their instructor and which set of poomsae they learn. In order to be recognized by the Jidokwan World Headquarters, they must learn the Taekwondo series.
